Until not long ago there were only two denominations, the mono-varietal Montepulciano d’Abruzzo for red wines and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo for white wines, now there have emerged sub zones as more producers seek recognition for their superiority.
Abruzzo is a region on the east (Adriatic) coast of central Italy, situated halfway up the 'boot’. Its immediate neighbors are Marche to the north, Lazio to the west and south-west and Molise to the south-east.
With the revival in viniculture came bulk wine, which dominated the region for a considerable period. However the region has now revamped its image, gradually moving towards producing more quality-driven wines, with an increase in boutique wineries.

Il Faggio Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, 2023
Il Faggio Montepulciano d\'Abruzzo is deep ruby red in colour, with lifted perfumes of dark fruits, plums and cherries and a hint of mocha. This wine has soft, ripe tannins and a delicious chocolate-cherry finish.
