Until not long ago there were only two denominations, the mono-varietal Montepulciano d’Abruzzo for red wines and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo for white wines, now there have emerged sub zones as more producers seek recognition for their superiority.
Abruzzo is a region on the east (Adriatic) coast of central Italy, situated halfway up the 'boot’. Its immediate neighbors are Marche to the north, Lazio to the west and south-west and Molise to the south-east.
With the revival in viniculture came bulk wine, which dominated the region for a considerable period. However the region has now revamped its image, gradually moving towards producing more quality-driven wines, with an increase in boutique wineries.

Farnese Fantini Trebbiano d\'Abruzzo DOC is a deep, bright, straw yellow in colour. The nose has intense, fruit and floral characters with aromas of peach and orange blossom. On the palate, it is full bodied, well balanced and fruity with a persistent finish.

Farnese Fantini Sangiovese IGT Terre di Chieti is garnet red in colour and quite intense on the nose with vibrant red fruit, cherries and herbal characters. On the palate, it has bright fruity notes of strawberry and morello cherry, with subtle vanilla flavours from oak ageing. The wine is well balanced and medium-bodied with structured firm tannins, fresh acidity and a long finish.
