You don’t see many Swiss wines in multiples or supermarkets, that’s because less than 3% of their wines are exported. The amount of land given over to wine production is miniscule when compared to the likes of France, Spain and Italy, hence the wine produced is very scarce. On saying that, the wine that is produced, is simply stunning and regions such as Geneva, Vaud and Valais produce sumptuous red and white wines with enormous charm and depth of character----no wonder the Swiss people buy and keep most of the wines for themselves.
