Venice’s region is a verdant land of vines that flourish in hills and plains as northern Italy’s most abundant source of wine. Verona’s sweet Recioto della Valpolicella often improves with time, and its dry counterpart , Amarone, is one of the world’s great wines for aging. Some sturdy Valpolicella can age well too, as can Custoza, Lugana, Soave Classico and Recioto di Soave.
