Castilla Y Leon produces worthwhile wines in great variety, notably the stylish reds from Ribera del Duero, refreshing whites from Rueda and the light red from Cigales and Bierzo. The wines from Leon and Toro have improved notably with modern methods.
There is a profusion of vine varieties, but among the best and most typical are the black Tinto Fino, a variant of the Tempranillo, the white Verdejo, native to Rueda and the Prieto Picudo, a black grape with a white pulp, used for making Rose wines in Leon.

Protos Verdejo, Rueda is a white wine that encapsulates the vibrancy of youth with its lightness and zest. A bouquet of delicate yet captivating scents of green apple and citrus unfurl, complemented by a hint of fresh herbs. On the palate, its acidity is lively yet impeccably balanced, presenting a rounded texture and a body that impresses, whilst maintaining a robust structure.
Finca Museum Vinea Cigales Crianza, 2021
Finca Museum Vinea Cigales Crianza has a deep cherry colour, leading to violet shades on the rim. Very intense, expressive and complex, a powerful fruit driven nose with very ripe red fruits. Complex layers of lovely dark fruit hit the palate with force, combined with supple taninns and good acidity. This well structured wine has a smooth lingering finish.
Finca Museum Cigales Reserva, 2020
Finca Museum Cigales Reserva is deep red cherry in colour. The nose is reminiscent of red berries, blackcurrants and cranberries. On the palate, lots more dark fruit with hints of liquorice, soft warm spice and vanilla from oak ageing in new French barrels for twenty two months. The aftertaste is long lasting, with even more fruit and vanilla, also hints of roasted hazelnuts.

Protos verdejo Reserva, Rueda has an intense and complex nose, with aromas from its time in oak (vanilla, delicate hints of pastries) that give it complexity and are perfectly complemented by the notes of tropical fruit, citrus and herbs, characteristic of the Verdejo grape. On the palate it’s dry, ample, oily, with perfectly balanced volume and structure, thanks to the good acidity that gives it freshness. Hints of herbs, fruit and oak (vanilla) are once again present at this stage. An expressive and long wine, with a persistent finish that invites you to take another sip.
