The Idiot Shiraz, Philip Shaw Wines from Orange is quite unique in style compared to most other regions in Australia and is more reminiscent of the Northern Rhone, France. The wine displays distinct bright spice with a fine pepper character typical of cooler regions. It is bright purple/red, medium density with an attractive aroma of plum and blueberry, pepper and spice. Good density of fruit on the palate with a bold texture to balance the fruit. A lively wine that should age for a long time but is drinking well in its youth.
