The subtle oaking is evident by hints of roasted almonds and fresh toast which underpin the vibrant fruit aromas. The palate is rich and full yet amazingly fresh and mouth watering. The flavours of ripe papaya and pineapple fill the mouth while a vibrant mid-palate of lemon zest and marmalade leads to a fresh crisp finish with a hint of toasted oak.
Tokara Directors Reserve White, Stellenbosch, 2020
Tokara Director’s Reserve White has a stunning vibrant golden hue. The nose displays stunning complexity with fruit notes of ripe quince and baked apples, hints of marzipan and toasted brioche and an underlying herbal note of nettles. The wine is full and rich as it passes onto the palate with a rich creaminess on the midpalate leading to a long finish of stunning balance. This wine drinks exceptionally well now but will continue to develop and improve through till 2024.
