A couple of prizes have been won by this wine in competition: the 2010 vintage was awarded Argent from the Concours de Bordeaux Vins d\'Aquitaine as well as 1 Star from the Guide Hachette des Vins. This is the one of the most popular wines from Bordeaux Superieur.
Chateau Larrivaux, Haut Medoc, Half Bottle,The estate has been handed down from women to women since the 15th century and is now managed by Bérangère Tesseron, who keeps the family tradition of high quality, affordable wines. The high proportion of Merlot (61%) makes it a delicious, fruity and velvety wine with black fruit and light spices aromas.
Chateau Haut-Beausejour St Estephe Cru Bourgeois Half Bottle has a deep red colour in the glass with purple glints. Complex, fresh and fruity on the nose. More dark fruit and supple tannins balance well with the acidity and notes of soft warm spice. Oak ageing provides vanilla and more spice flavours on the long finish.
Château Plantey de Lieujean offers a nice mix dark cherries and plums followed by spices, flowers and hints of tobacco. On the palate this possesses a medium-plus body with nicely polished tannins. It displays notable balance throughout, with a core of juicy dark fruits that are framed by nice minerality. This is drinking beautifully today and there is no need to wait any longer to fully enjoy it. A wonderful value from this vintage.
