Robert Parker/Wine Advocate and Wine Spectator Rated Wines

Alexander Hadleigh prides itself on selecting for its customers wines of high quality and reputation. The wines listed within this section have all been tasted by independent experts, either by Robert Parker and his team, or by the team of the Wine Spectator, or by both organisations.
Robert Parker is one of the most influential wine critics in the world, a wine expert who tastes up to 10,000 wines every year and shares his thoughts and experiences on each wine through Parker's 100-point rating system. Followers of Robert Parker gain great comfort in choosing wines knowing he or his team have tasted first and given their expert opinion.
Wine Spectator is an American lifestyle magazine that focuses on wine and wine culture. It also has a strong well respected team of professional wine critics who review and rate thousands of wines each year utilising a similar rating system to Robert Parker.
Both sets of aforementioned experts reinforce our desire to recommend and sell top quality wines.

Sandeman Vintage Port Wine

“This is a deep-coloured wine with faint brick hues, dominated by aromatic notes of mint cedar and tobacco box. It reveals the presence of spices such as pepper and cinnamon, ripe black fruits and slight chocolate hits, the result of an excellent maturation. On the palate it displays excellent structure, good quality tannins and a very well integrated acidity. The long finish of great complexity shows aromatic notes of cedar and mint, as well as ripe black fruits.” Luís Sottomayor, winemaker, March 2014
