GlenAllachie 14 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail has aromas of crisp fresh apples and pears, drizzled with honey. Chocolate wafers and vanilla pod follow, with sweet, honeyed sultanas. Flavours of honeyed fruits continue on the palate with creamy praline and vanilla fudge. Oily barley brings some nuttiness, while oaken spices develop beneath. On the finish a touch of lemon zest and more fresh vanilla bring things to a close, with gentle spice poking through.

Whisky from several different casks, including new charred oak, PX sherry and first fill bourbon are blended together. The southern-most point of Islay is the Mull of Oa, the rounded headland that shelters Ardbeg from the wild Atlantic.
