Lochlea Our Barley, Single Malt Lowland Whisky has been matured in a combination of bourbon, oloroso sherrybutts & str casks. The nose opens up with a burst of pear syrup and fruit bon bons, followed by hints of zesty marmalade and cinnamon. The palate shows the signature Loclea fresh fruit and cereal with a luscious golden syrup. The finish shifts to macadamia nuts, cream soda and a lovely lasting orange beeswax note. Production Director John Campbell, ex Laphroig Distillery, refined the cask recipe over several months with the final whisky being decided by a blind tasting by the Lochlea team.

Tullibardine 228 Burgundy Cask Finish, Single Malt Whisky was released in 2013. It sees the Highland whisky finished for 12 months in 228-litre Red Burgundy wine casks from Chateau de Chassagne Montrachet. The nose is spiced, with notes of red berry fruit, vanilla and toasted oak. A creamy, nutty palate entry with notes of sweet custard, apple peel, red berries and orange blossom honey. There is a long finish with plum jam and allspice. Overall: Spiced and rich with a delicious influence from the red wine casks.
